Acuson, a company originally founded from an interest and intrigue of the potential of ultrasound information that may be provided for the body while being non-invasive. The product line includes the 128XP, Aspen, Sequoia and into the Cypress portable unit in the late 90’s. Early on, the Acuson 128 ultrasound was launched, equipped with 128 channels for image formation when the other systems were still using 64 channels. Not long after, it became a multi-million dollar company. Acuson’s commitment to product development continued to receive praise, even in the recession times. Acuson ultrasound systems are used in hospitals and medical centers worldwide promoting imaging for radiology, cardiology, obstetrics and gynecology. Acuson is now owned by Siemens and continues with a host of products targeting all major areas of ultrasound interest.
